Celebrity Beauty Buzz notes that Jessica Simpson has a plan to lose some weight that she has put on over the last few years.
How will she do it?
…by following a new detox vegan diet plan to shed the weight quickly.
A vegan diet — a diet with no animal products — is not necessarily the best for weight loss. Vegans tend to eat a lot of carbohydrates. And it can be hard to find protein sources.
For many people a vegan diet is very hard to follow. It can be quite an adjustment for someone used to eating meat, and even for someone who is used to including eggs and milk products it can be difficult.
Unless they plan ahead, new adherents of vegan diets can end up eating just salad. And a diet of salad can get old very quickly.
So, what else does she have in mind to help with her weight loss?
She began her regimen by flying to meet with master healer Ming Yi Wang in Las Angeles who recommended in the morning Jessica begin her day with a mug if hot water and then drink Pu-erh tea throughout the day which is great for expelling toxins from the body. This isn’t any tea you can find at your local Whole Foods – it costs a whopping $1,500 for 8 ounces.
Pu-erh tea? $1,500 for 8 ounces?
So what is Pu-erh tea, anyway. Pu-erh tea is, well, it’s tea. It’s made from the leaves of Camellia sinensis, the same plant that is used to make green tea and black tea.
The tea has undergone a period of aging which gives it a flavor and body highly prized by the connoisseur.
Does it have any properties that would make it good for weight loss? No, not really. But with anything you ingest that you have high hopes for there is a placebo effect, and that can’t be discounted.
What matters is the result in the long run. And if Jessica Simpson believes that Pu-erh tea will help her diet, then no harm done.
